‘Gill Sans’ is a tribute to Eric Gill’s most famous typeface, designed in 1928 and still widely used today. The print is produced in two colours, show casing the typeface’s versatility in a variety of fonts and styles – shadow, cameo, cameo ruled, titling, condensed, Italic, light, medium and bold.
Gill Sans is a sans serif typeface and was based on Edward Johnston's 1916 typeface designed for The London Underground. Gill as a young artist had assisted Johnston in its early development stages.
This print was designed and hand printed using letterpress by The Hand and Eye Press in London.
